41. Reflecting on Relating to TIME

Hello! Welcome to this sacred space … to this quiet moment …

to our reflective, meditative time together!

I’m Bill Bauman, and I’m deeply honored

to invite us to reflect together now on …

… relating to TIME!

Why do you suppose I would invite you to reflect on time?

What’s time got to do with being quantum, spiritual or mystical, after all?

Well, if we think about it, it’s got a lot to do with every one of those.

Allow me to explain.

A hundred-plus years ago, we learned from Albert Einstein

that this unique phenomenon of ‘time’ is intimately attached to space.

Both space and time are cozily intertwined, snugly interwoven—

hence, our now familiar term: spacetime.

When you hear the term ‘time,’ though, how do you picture it?

Most of us have immediate thoughts of a continuum of time—

time moving from a point in the past,

through the present and into the future.

That familiar view is what we all see when, and only when,

we look at time through the narrow lens of 3-dimensional space.

The bigger truth about us, though, is that we’re not just 3-dimensional beings.

We are also other-dimensional, bigger-dimensional and higher-dimensional.

Can you imagine what time might look like if we elevated our perception of it

and started to look at it as our higher-dimensional self

and through our bigger-dimensional lens?

Ahh, now our focus on time is getting interesting, isn’t it?

Let’s do it!

Ten years ago, I came across a startling finding in the field of neuro-physics:

Our human brain doesn’t just perceive time three-dimensionally.

Rather, its multiple neural circuits allow it to perceive different kinds of time—

sometimes seeing time as a past-present-future continuum (narrative time),

sometimes viewing it as an eternal/perennial phenomenon (long-duration time)

and sometimes interpreting it as an ever-present ‘now’ (moment-to-moment time).

In short, our clever brain perceives and experiences time inter-dimensionally.

My take-away, given that you and I are also inter-dimensional, is this:

So can we!

And, as I expressed above, let’s do it! Are you ready?

First, let’s forget our past! (Yes, I’m hearing your gasp!).

That’s right, let’s pretend that you had and have no past;

let’s pretend that such a notion was just a passing mental illusion.

Now, for our next step, let’s assume that there’s also no future.

That’s right, you’ve got nothing to look forward to, at all!

I’m sure that, at this point, you’re clear about what you’re left with—

this present moment in time only.

Yes, as the spiritual saying says,

All there is, is the present moment—the Now!

So, as our third step, let’s embrace this present moment as simply that—

a moment with no past or future reference points,

a moment that stands all by itself, a moment without interpretations,

a moment that can only be experienced for what it is—

the Now.

Let’s be there now—in this present moment!

Let’s experience this ‘now’ a little more thoroughly,

noticing that it comes with no stories attached to it!

Picture yourself being fully immersed in this elevated state of ‘time.’

Notice that, in this ‘state of now,’ you can’t judge anything about it.

Equally, you’re unable to find feelings of guilt, fear or anger in relation to it.

You can’t even resist this moment, regret its presence or wish it away.

Indeed, you’re unable to do anything except to be fully in it,

to be immersed in its powerful presence,

to embrace its telling ‘truth of the moment,’

to experience its ‘now’-centered invitation;

in short, to dance the singular dance that this moment invites you to!

Because, in this moment, nothing else matters, nothing else exists,

nothing else is calling out to you.

All there is, is the Now.

Let’s pause and reflect a bit.

What is this ‘’being only in the now” experience like for you?

What is it like to just to be living in the moment,

with no past memories, no future desires, no mental references …

with no interpretations about it to grasp

and no judgments about it to ponder?

While you’re pondering these questions, allow me to share some thoughts

with you about the bigger picture of this “Now state of consciousness”.

If we look at our bigger-dimensional nature, we discover something phenomenal:

We find that this state of “now consciousness” is the exact experience of time

that your vast spirit and mighty super-conscious mind experience every day.

We also notice that your all-seeing soul and your higher consciousness

live endlessly in the experience of this ‘eternal Now.’

If we look deeply within, we come upon an equally profound discovery:

Our quantum self doesn’t even have a concept of time.

Our sub-atomic self, wherein we’re entranced with every possible creation,

is so busy enjoying every possibility that it has no use for time.

Our light-filled self, which lives and sees clearly above-the-forest,

views time as only an ever-present now.

Our precious soul blithely skims over the waves of three-dimensional time

as it lives in the pure, truth-filled realms of light.

Our sub-conscious mind plays with the concept of past-present-future time

but doesn’t really take that concept seriously at all.

Yes, it’s only in our conscious human mind—

the very same mind that is programmed from birth on

to see everything three-dimensionally—

that sees and believes that there is a past, present and future.

In the wise words of Albert Einstein,

the concept of time as a flow is a “stubbornly persistent illusion.”

Let’s bring our attention back to you.

Are you still experiencing your state of “now consciousness”?

If so, I’d like you suggest that it’s possible

to spend every day of your life there.

There’s nothing in regular humanness that requires you

to use only one of your brain’s mechanisms in order to relate to time?

You can live your life inter-dimensionally—in the “Now”—

as well as three-dimensionally!

You can be super-conscious as well as three-dimensionally conscious.

You have every right to select the “Present Now” channel

on your brain’s neural network (or television screen) any time you chose.

As we close, I hope that, today, you have discovered a freedom—

the freedom to select the time perspective of your choice,

the freedom to live any and every moment outside of any traditional human style,

the freedom to live in the moment, in the Now—

both the perennial Now and the momentary Now—

just like you are always doing in your spirit, soul and heart.

Thank you for spending this sacred time,

this sacred moment, this eternal now,

with me.
