49. Reflecting on having AUTHORITY

Hello! Welcome to this sacred space … to this quiet moment …

to our reflective, meditative time together!

I’m Bill Bauman, and I’m deeply honored

to invite us to reflect together now on …

having authority!

Have you ever considered that power and authority aren’t always the same thing?

Sometimes, I’ve discovered, we have the power to do something,

but don’t have or are not given the authority to actually do it.

For example, in years past, when my life was about being a healer of others’ pain,

I had the power of healing—the gift of healing had generously been bestowed in me—

yet, at times I lacked the authority, the authorization, the permission, the go-ahead

to actually do the healing.

If I try to answer the why question, it’s because sometimes healing a person’s issue,

pain or symptom is not in the person’s best interest.

In those instances, I noticed that the person’s all-knowing soul wasn’t authorizing me—

wasn’t giving me the authority and permission—to proceed with the requested healing.

In those instances, not healing the person was the wiser choice.

That’s why, before I proceeded to heal anyone’s anything,

I always looked to the person’s beyond-human, wiser source for the authority to do so.

So, you and I have come together today to look to your beyond-human, wiser source

for authority.

If you look at what in your life or within yourself you think needs changing—

or empowering, healing, awakening, improving or, well, anything—

and wonder why your wishes or intentions sometimes come to fruition

and, yet, at other times simply fall flat,

it may just be that a higher-than-human source, or the ‘wiser you’,

or your all-knowing soul simply isn’t authorizing it.

Hmm, we’re right back to the importance of authority, aren’t we?

Here’s a main point in my story about the importance of authority:

Despite the sometimes-proven power of personal intention, desire and/or planning

in achieving our desired goals or healing our pesky ills,

there’s a more important factor that actually pushes the “go ahead” button:

the authority factor … and the higher source that the authorizes the effect.

Through the various phases of my personal journey,

I’ve looked to differently named sources for that authorization.

In my psychological years, I looked to our deeper-knowing sub-conscious mind.

In my spiritual years, I often looked to our all-knowing and guiding soul.

In my quantumly oriented years, I’ve looked to the ultimate source, the quantum void.

You’ve maybe looked to other sources than these as well. For our purposes here,

it doesn’t matter what name or concept we assign to that source of authority.

What matters is the common factor in all these focuses: the word higher source—

a beyond-human-level source of higher intelligence, truth and knowing,

a source larger and wiser than our human mind,

a source that knows exactly what is best of you and me in every moment.

Today, let’s find that source—within you! Let’s get strongly acquainted with it!

Let’s embrace and merge with it! Let’s even explore its ultimate authority!

In short, let’s transcend any barrier that might exist

between the human you and this all-knowing source that lives within!

I’m sure that you already have a strong, even solid relationship with that source,

by whatever name you call it.

And, I’m sure that you live your life a lot in a “Let go and let God” manner.

Nonetheless, join me as we invite both your source’s power and its authority

to blend, unite and awaken themselves in your human awareness—

so that, as a love-filled gift to you today, the ‘human you’ unites with that source

like never before.

Are you ready?

First, as clearly as you can, picture your all-knowing source—

again, by whatever name you call it and in whatever form or non-form you envision it.

Now, witness yourself merging with your source.

Watch as, bit by bit, every aspect of the ‘human you’ dissipates into it.

Note especially how every bit of your personal will and/or desire melts into it.

Also, as that merging, that melting, is ongoing,

observe that everything human that you perhaps feel attached to or identified with

is also being dissolved into your source’s waiting bosom.

While you’re continuing this initiation-like experience, allow me to remind us

that you’re not experiencing this process of melting and dissolving

as a way of getting what you humanly want or of having your desires granted.

Rather, this sacred experience is precisely for the purpose

of your merging so deeply and fully with your pure source,

even getting so lost in and one with this mighty source,

that, in the process, you’re becoming initiated into its bigger-than-life wisdom,

you’re living in its all-knowing truth

and you’re getting to know the authority that lies behind its power.

Let’s bring our focus back to your experience! How are you doing?

What’s your experience of merging and uniting with your source like?

Is there perhaps some aspect of human-ness that seems to be holding on?

If so, that’s quite okay! We’ll just let it be for now.

It will dissolve at the perfect time, whenever the power and authority to dissolve it

are blended enough within you.

For a final moment, let’s sit in the midst of your source’s authority!

Take a good, long look at its authority, as best you can.

What do you see?

Maybe more importantly, what might it, that authority, want you to see?

What might it be trying to show you about itself … or about itself within you?

Do you sense this authority now more present in you, even being a part of you?

Does this authority seem more connected to you now,

as you and your power embrace every moment’s creation in your life?

As we conclude our time together today,

I want to thank you for having been so open and dedicated

to being empowered throughout your human life

and for so genuinely looking to the wisdom-driven authority

that unleashes that power!

As you re-enter your day, may you continue to enjoy living in your source,

drinking in the blessings of your power

and being connected with the authority that brings everything to life!
